About Us

For 31 years, Off The Record Twickenham has provided free and confidential counselling, information and sexual health support to young people aged 11 to 24 who live, work or study in the borough of Richmond Upon Thames. Our services take place in a welcoming, non-clinical setting in the heart of Twickenham. We provide 12 sessions of booked counselling along with a walk-in service enabling young people to drop in for information or crisis counselling. We also offer 15 evening sessions of counselling in 9 different hubs across the borough (one is online), covering most of Richmond borough.

Our Impact

OTR has established a reputation within the community for positively impacting the emotional wellbeing of the borough’s young people. Our data show us that the overwhelming majority of the young people who use our services feel supported and experience positive outcomes.

We work in partnership in a variety of ways, attending mental health forums and supporting schools, and we take part in outreach activities to increase our visibility among local young people, such as by speaking in school assemblies. We have also delivered workshops to more widely engage young people about emotional wellbeing, and to enable them to support themselves.

Our fundraising work

We have 2 large Charitable trusts in the Richmond borough who provide us with significant annual grants – the Richmond Parish Lands Charity and Hampton Fund. We also receive a regular grant from the Barnes Fund. Our local Integrated Care Service funds us for some of our satellite hubs and we receive money through local donations and fundraising – by OTR and our supporters. We have received funding in the past from City Bridge, Richmond Voluntary Fund and Global Make Some Noise, amongst others.
